Job Summary

As a Corporate Accounting Specialist – Reporting Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting financial and regulatory reporting. You’ll help ensure reports are accurate, timely, and compliant with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Farm Credit Administration (FCA) regulations, applicable bank requirements, Association policies and procedures, and Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR). Working in a collaborative team environment, you’ll support customer service, strategic initiatives, and continuous improvement across reporting processes and systems. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with first-line reviews of monthly financial statements, quarterly and annual shareholder reports, FCA Call Reports, Frontier CMR reports, Board reports, and related supporting schedules.
  • Prepare and/or review daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger balance sheet reconciliations; research discrepancies and coordinate timely resolution with appropriate teammates.
  • Assist with AgriBank quarterly information requests and CoBank Frontier CMR reporting.
  • Complete variance, materiality, and ad hoc analyses of financial results, and support development of PCA/FLCA allocations as needed.
  • Perform analysis and other work supporting the Associations’ annual patronage programs.
  • Recommend and assist with process improvements, reporting-system enhancements, and updates or modifications to accounting and financial reporting processes.
  • Support internal and external audit activities, including documentation requests, remediation of deficiencies, and fraud-control initiatives. 

Education Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Business, Banking, Finance or related field. 
  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, manage multiple priorities, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Available for a 12-week internship during the summer.
