Job Summary
We are seeking a Corporate Financial Analyst who will primarily be responsibility for monitoring ongoing loan covenant compliance for loans originated and serviced within the Corporate and Commercial Lending portfolios to ensure accuracy and completeness of information provided. Facilitate communication with team members regarding any identified non-compliance to ensure appropriate approvals; waivers and customer and lending partner notifications are provided. Prepare financial packages for underwriting decisions in accordance with Association credit standards. Collaborates with underwriting teammates in loan processing, decisioning activities, and initial credit analysis.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing loan monitoring duties for direct, bought, and sold loans to ensure timely and accurate reporting of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial information and other required reporting in accordance with affirmative, negative, and financial covenants outlined in the credit agreement or promissory note. Provide expertise in specialty industries such as agribusiness, beef feedlot, dairy, grain, swine, poultry, etc. Facilitate follow-up with customer and/or lead lender upon identification of non-receipt of financial information or other monitoring requirements. Reconcile borrowing base reports and compliance certificates against source documents including financial reports, accounting schedules, production reports and commodity brokerage statements to assess customer performance and portfolio risk. Validate new and modified covenants in the executed credit agreement or promissory note to correspond with compliance monitoring system. Communicate covenant inconsistencies, financial trends, non-compliance or late reporting to the appropriate teammates. Develop and coordinate documented notification of an event of default through a waiver or reservation of rights letter to customers and/or lending partners.
- Analyze financial information for large loan, complex and/or high-risk accounts within the corporate, commercial and retail portfolios in the appropriate system to initiate the underwriting activities including financial position, repayment ability, probability of default, loss given default, and collateral analysis used for decisioning of customer requests. Compile individual and complex customer consolidated level information, trends, and scenario analysis to assist in the development and presentation of customer financial analysis for internal approval and/or distribution to the applicable lending partners. Compile benchmarking information about customer financials for portfolio analysis, peer comparison, and performance improvements initiated by customer.
- Coordinate and prioritize work to support teammates and provide positive customer experience while maintaining sound credit administration. Provide peer leadership by mentoring and training new teammates. Build working and collaborative relationships with internal teammates (underwriters, lenders, operations teammates). Identify continuous process improvement opportunities to deliver seamless and efficient customer experience.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Agricultural Business, Economics, Business Administration, or Finance or equivalent related experience and/or specialized training will be considered.
Years of Experience
- 4 + years of experience, relevant experience in credit, banking, finance or similar industry. Strong attention to detail and proven experience with financial trending/analysis. Proficient with credit/lending principles.
