Job Summary

**Hybrid Role - Incumbent must work at least three days each week out of one of the office locations listed**

 

With several recent promotions and retirements, we are excited to expand our already strong team. We are seeking a Real Estate Appraiser or one willing to train to be an appraiser who will complete real estate appraisals across a broad area focusing mainly on vacant or minimally improved agricultural properties. Responsibilities include data management including collection, verification and analysis of sales as well as maintaining other information required for the valuation process. Consults with appraisal and regional team members, as well as customers, regarding appraisal issues and market trends. Complies with the company’s appraisal standards and Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).  Works in a team environment to accomplish goals and consistently provides for a great customer experience.    

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Effectively use technology and other information sources (GIS, customer, other on-line sources and Financial Officer) to gather and analyze information for real estate appraisal requests in lieu of physically inspecting when applicable. 
  • Complete real estate appraisals while providing a great customer experience. Conduct property inspections when necessary. Apply a differential approach to analysis and reporting.  
  • Ensure accurate legal descriptions, aerial imagery, soils, land and building inventories are completed according to Appraisal Team data standards. 
  • Responsible for data management across the company. Ensure adequate sales data is analyzed to provide a reliable basis for appraisals, valuation systems and market zone ranges. Coordinates this effort with the Digital Specialists and collects, verifies and analyzes sales. Maintains adequate cost and income data. Effectively use technology for data management and is adaptable to change resulting from changes in processes or technology. 
  • Maintain market zones and benchmarks as assigned estimating values according to company standards as assigned. 
  • Maintain a visible presence with the regional teams providing market data support and valuation consulting. Provide real estate expertise and support of real estate valuation processes across the Associations.  
  • Maintain relationships with local external appraisers for the purpose of maintaining an adequate approved appraiser list. 

Education Requirements

  • 4 Year/Bachelors Degree Preferred in a Related Education

Years of Experience

  • Preferred Certified General license with 2+ years of experience in Real Estate Appraisal  
  • Will consider training the right candidate
