Job Summary

**Hybrid-Position is required to work a minimum of three days each week out of our Omaha, NE or Fargo, ND office**

FCSAmerica is seeking a Public Relations and External Communications Manager who will help the organization build, promote, and sustain a strong, positive image in the marketplace through multiple forms of corporate communication. They will partner with teams to define and implement communication plans that effectively describe and promote the organization to public audiences through various formats and media. Developing strong working relationships with assigned teams, company leaders, community organizations, business partners, and the media will be critical for the role’s success. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

PR Strategy, Planning and Execution 

  • Identify and spotlight newsworthy stories and opportunities for media coverage. 
  • Distribute releases to local and industry media contacts, coordinate the development of talking points and responses to questions, and arrange interviews with organization executives and spokespeople. 
  • Develop and maintain a PR calendar that supports brand and business strategies 
  • Corporate Image and Reputation Management  
  • Develop and promote a speaker’s bureau that builds goodwill and awareness of organizations subject matter experts. Help secure opportunities to speak at community or industry events  
  • For national industry events, provide media leadership and support including the coordination of messaging, speaker support, interview scheduling and media coverage. 
  • Proactively scan media outlets and industry news outlets for breaking news to be shared with relevant internal stakeholders 
  • Identify appropriate recognition opportunities including individual and company awards. 

 

External Communications  

  • Coordinate the production of a variety of corporate and external customer communications including the Annual Report and corporate presentations. 
  • Serve as a resource for refinement of broad customer communication to ensure consistent tone, branding and messaging. 

 

Crisis Management 

  • Document and manage the Associations’ crisis communications plans. 
  • Serve on business continuity workgroup and ensure leaders and spokespersons are designated and trained for crisis communication  

Education Requirements

  • Preferred, 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree, Journalism with a public relations emphasis, marketing, English, communications or business administration 

Years of Experience

  • 4 to 6 years of experience in Corporate communications and public relations position
