Job Summary
**Hybrid work - Incumbent must work three days each week in either the Omaha, NE or Fargo, ND office**
We are seeking a Portfolio Management Analyst to lead and evolve our portfolio analysis capabilities in alignment with enterprise strategy. This role will partner closely with senior leadership across Sales, Credit, Operations, Strategy and Innovation to design and deliver insights that drive market growth, profitability, and risk management.
The Analyst will establish and maintain key organizational success metrics, including identifying KPIs, monitoring performance, and assessing key risks. Lead business unit performance analysis projects and contribute to the annual portfolio management report. This role also supports strategic initiatives through ad hoc analysis and special portfolio studies.
The successful candidate will demonstrate thought leadership in enterprise risk management (ERM), portfolio design, and market intelligence. Proactively design structured analysis approaches to understand the impact of changing market conditions and provide actionable recommendations to senior leadership. This includes maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and challenging assumptions to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Complete portfolio analysis and reporting of the Associations’ portfolio growth, market potential, profitability and credit quality. Work with Senior credit and sales leaders to solidify approach to market and ensure reporting needs are consistent to supporting plans and risk appetite.
Develop and maintain a portfolio framework identifying key trends in the portfolio and opportunities for strategy adjustments and assessment of strategy execution. Point of contact for business unit performance, focusing both on strategy and execution of strategy.
Utilize market intelligence framework to collect, analyze and communicate actionable information on market conditions, competitors and customer trends. Work with Sales Enablement to provide analysis to support key decisions to promote market growth and profitability in business units and products. Utilize internal and external data to consolidate, analyze and interpret market insights, portfolio opportunities and additional scenarios for leadership to understand the market potential and portfolio conditions.
Utilize profitability framework to analyze, provide insights and recommendations for products and business unit performance that incorporates risk and reward into approach to market.
Lead the ongoing review, analysis and reporting of the Associations’ key risk elements and KRIs. Partner with Senior Leaders, Executive Leadership Team Sponsors, and Business Owners of risk elements to ensure the Associations’ risk appetite is appropriately monitored, areas of increased risk are addressed in a timely manner and key areas identified are addressed in strategic and/or supporting business plans.
Analyze, monitor and report on supporting business plans, KRIs, KPIs, credit policy limits and other areas of business unit performance and concentration risk. Provide ongoing updates and quarterly reporting of KPIs and KRIs to Executive and Senior leadership.
Develop and maintain market and internal customer information to understand the overall market potential and key segmentation trends (customer size, industry, product, etc.). Manage market share analysis framework and provide insights and analysis to Senior lending leadership to evolve the business model to meet the needs of the changing market.
Education Requirements
- Master's degree preferred in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or Agribusiness. Bachelor's degree required.
Years of Experience
- 4 + years of experience in Portfolio management, market intelligence, profitability analysis, or project management.
Certification and Technical Requirements
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency in data query and visualization tools, such as SQL, SAS, Alteryx, PowerBI and
- Excel with demonstrated expertise in developing and analyzing large data sets.
- Proficient in Windows environment using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Edge
