Job Summary

Incumbent must work a percentage of time each week in the Omaha, NE office.

 

We are seeking an experienced, and highly motivated Financial Reporting Specialist who will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial reports using the general ledger database and corporate data warehouses.  Working in a team environment, the Specialist will develop, maintain, and modify financial reports for external regulatory reporting, Farm Credit Administration (FCA) Call reporting, Board reporting, and variance analysis. The Specialist will research data integrity issues, perform analysis, and implement reporting and process improvements.  

 

The Specialist will ensure compliance with the external and regulatory reporting and related ICFR needs of Farm Credit Services of America, Frontier Farm Credit, AgCountry Farm Credit (the Associations), and AgDirect LLP in accordance with requirements established by GAAP, FCA regulations, AgriBank, CoBank, the Board, the Associations' policies and procedures, and effective and efficient business practice. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Reporting Development & Preparation

  • Develop, maintain, and modify financial reports that effectively communicate financial results monthly, quarterly, and annually to external shareholders, Board of Directors, in compliance with GAAP and FCA regulations for FCSAmerica, Frontier Farm Credit, AgCountry Farm Credit, and AgDirect LLP.
  • Develop, maintain, and modify the FCA Call reports in compliance with FCA regulations.
  • Assist with development and preparation of Agribank Quarterly Information Requests and CoBank Frontier CMR reports.
  • Generate apportionment schedules.
  • Research and resolve data integrity issues within the reporting from general ledger system and corporate databases, coordinating with other teammates to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Research complex reporting transactions and requirements.
  • Develop special financial reports and electronic files upon request from other teams, FCA, and internal and external auditors.
  • Support implementation of Collaboration.

Risk Management

  • Recommend and assist in implementing process improvements to the reporting and accounting processes, and ICFR.
  • Perform as backup for other Financial Reporting team members, as required.
  • Develop and implement enhancements to existing reporting systems, and new reporting systems, updates, and modifications.
  • Work with internal and external auditors, assist with remediation of deficiencies and fraud control initiatives.
  • Perform materiality analysis, and other analyses, as required.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, or Business.
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred.

Years of Experience

  • 6+ years of demonstrated expertise in financial reporting and analysis within a general accounting environment, preferably in a large enterprise or multi-entity setting.  
  • Hands-on experience with data warehouse environments, including data sourcing, report generation, and issue resolution. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of GAAP reporting and disclosure requirements. Knowledge of FCA and Farm Credit System accounting and reporting requirements preferred. 
  • Expert-level proficiency in automated systems.
