Job Summary
We are seeking an Enterprise Data Architect to join our team. As a practitioner of data architecture who assesses current-state and develops future-state data strategies and initiatives to ensure alignment to the Associations’ business strategies and initiatives. In this role you will create and review data designs and data models, select frameworks, and develop enterprise data roadmap. You will work collaboratively with other architecture roles on the creation of a cohesive enterprise architecture approach.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Works across technology and business teams and provide data architectural direction and oversite to create a holistic view of the data strategy, data processes, and data assets. Creates standards for how data will be stored, consumed, integrated and managed by different data entities and technology systems. Selects frameworks, develops and communicates common approaches, and develops roadmaps.
- Develops and implements models of data that enable the implementation of intended business architecture, creates diagrams showing key data entities, and creates an inventory of the data needed to implement the architecture vision. Creates and reviews data designs to ensure that conceptual, logical, and physical data models are consistent with architecture. Ensures that data flow is consistent, traceable, and meets organizational needs.
- Serve as a data entrepreneur leading the transformation of historical data structures and business data, extract meaning out of data, and create an enterprise data model. Works closely with solutions architecture, infrastructure architecture, integration architecture and business architecture to create an enterprise architecture approach for solving short term and long-term strategic initiatives. Uses and improves architectural assets.
- Responsible for establishing goals, strategies, communications governance models, and plans necessary to execute the Associations’ business strategy and to maximize the value of data to the enterprise. Develop data, analytics and artificial intelligence strategies. Ensures data replication controls are in place. Guides data technology and renewal decisions.
- Establishes, maintains, and monitors data architecture metrics to measure key aspects of data within the environment. Tracks organizational enterprise data architecture trends and communicates and champions data architectural efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure that data is treated like any other products or assets and that appropriate quality standards and controls are implemented to leverage data as a resource.
Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of Snowflake Data Cloud and data warehouse design.

Familiar with Kafka and event-based architecture concepts.

Strong business analysis and functional experience, including requirements gathering, creating/deploying solutions to end users, writing user acceptance test scripts and facilitating UAT sessions.

Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
Travel Time
- 15% travel during the day
- 15% travel overnight
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Data Governance, Data Management, or comparable experience in a related field required.
- 10 + years of related experience. Team or Project Leadership Capacity preferred.
