Job Summary

*Hybrid- This position must work a percentage of each week from the Omaha, NE or Fargo, ND office*

 

We are looking for a Compliance Review Officer to join our team. In this role, you will develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive lending and consumer compliance review program. Complete a risk assessment to efficiently allocate review resources. Test the effectiveness of the company’s efforts to maintain compliance with existing and new statutory and regulatory requirements. Provide value-added feedback that contributes to strong compliance performance. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design and implement compliance sampling and testing processes to assess the effectiveness of the compliance program. Identify the cause and effect of findings and provide recommendations based on input from appropriate parties, which may include Compliance Officers and other team leaders. Maintain a sound audit trail of reviews performed so documentation is readily available for review by auditors and examiners. Maintain a system to track correction of substantive, systemic compliance issues identified through the testing process.  
  • Communicate with various levels of leadership including summarizing testing results in written reports, keeping the Compliance Risk Owner and Sponsor informed of key risks issues, reporting compliance testing processes and performance to Senior Leadership upon request, and reporting compliance program testing results and significant compliance program updates to the Board Audit Committee upon request. 
  • Review and interpret existing, new and pending laws and regulations that affect the company’s operations and adjust, as necessary to maintain a valid compliance review process. 
  • Coordinate discussions concerning the compliance review program with internal and external auditors and examiners. 
  • Establish and maintain a collaborative working relationship with key compliance program partners such as Training, Operations, Legal, Internal Credit Review, Internal Audit, Technology Teams, and other Risk Management teams. Specifically, partner with the Compliance Officers on the more complex compliance related issues. 
  • Design and implement a comprehensive risk assessment to efficiently allocate review resources for an enterprise-wide lending and consumer compliance review program. 

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or Agribusiness is required
  • Master's Degree is preferred.

Years of Experience

  • 6+ years related experience in lending compliance, auditing or legal field. 

  • CRCM Certification preferred.
