Job Summary
***The ideal candidate for this role will be based out of Omaha, NE or Fargo, ND. Willing to look outside of these locations for a candidate with the right experience. ***
Seeking an SVP Program Lending responsible for developing and executing the Association’s sales and marketing strategy for Program Lending opportunities. You will be asked to establish, develop, and enhance relationships with key system and other lending partners. Provide direct leadership to the Program Lending team in the execution of sales, marketing, and credit coaching for loan purchases while serving as a sales coach by selecting and developing talent, implementing sales enablement strategies, improving delivery channels and processes, identifying product and process enhancements that achieve growth objectives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Business Development
- Lead the development and execution of the company's business development strategies in the program lending market segment, including input finance programs, third party delivered loan products, loan pool purchases, etc. Work closely with other leaders and teams to assure a seamless approach to identify and coordinate market opportunities.
- Provide leadership, direction and counsel in the delivery of the Association’s credit philosophy. Hold team accountable for effective credit administration, and compliance with established procedures and policies.
- Counsel teammates to ensure an appropriate balance of growth, profitability and credit quality.
- Actively involved in implementing changing marketplace delivery models to ensure that company objectives are met. Responsible for executing product pricing strategies and product enhancements to tailor products to meet customer needs while achieving organizational goals.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Sales Enablement teams in the development and execution of sales and marketing strategies. Plan, coordinate and implement advertising and marketing strategies across assigned business development area. Responsible for designated promotional and advertising budgets.
- Develop and maintain a highly visible professional presence and serve as the primary point of contact for peer level relationships throughout the agricultural industry, Farm Credit System, and government sectors

- Provide team leadership, shared vision, and positive communications to achieve the Associations’ vision and strategy consistent with the Associations’ core values and team principles. Build strong relationships and collaborative partnerships within the Associations to understand the business opportunities and challenges.
- Establish a positive, participative, and collaborative team environment that inspires creative, high-performing, continuous learning, and engaged team members. Utilize consensus decision-making, when appropriate, to diversify thinking and enable and empower teammates.
- Responsible for attracting, selecting, and on-boarding a diverse and qualified team and determining the appropriate team resource requirements to meet the Associations’ strategic direction.
- Develop team members through coaching, training and development, opportunities, and on-going performance feedback including timely follow-up on individual development plans; counsel team members on Talent Management activities.
- Complete and/or recommend salary administration for team members in accordance with Association procedures.
- Develop and monitor the business plan and annual operating budgets related to areas of responsibilities. Review and approve operational expenditures within delegated authority.
Travel Time
- Percentage of time required to travel during the day - 30%
- Percentage of time required to travel overnight - 30%
Education Requirements
- 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree minimum in Business, or agricultural economics, with an emphasis on finance, accounting, or management.
Years of Experience
- 12 + years of experience in negotiating complex origination or loan purchase transactions. Develop and maintain partner relationships at the senior leader and executive level.
