Job Summary
As a Credit Analyst Intern at Farm Credit Services of America you will gain an understanding of credit philosophies and lending activities for agricultural producers and agribusinesses. This is a great opportunity to gain in-depth experience and learn the primary responsibilities of a Credit Analyst.
Our interns work on projects that matter—and teams will rely on your skills and insights to help deliver those projects to market. You’ll get the opportunity to work on real projects and have fun along the way.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Gain exposure to our credit philosophies for short, intermediate and long-term financing.
- Learn resources and techniques for underwriting loans.
- Make decisions on new and existing operating, term and real estate loan applications.
- Input customer financial information and analyze balance sheets, income statements and cash flows.
- Research industry information.
- Attend and participate in team meetings.
- Complete special projects assigned by the leader, if applicable.
- Spend time in our retail offices to learn about the loan administration and closing processes.
- Spend time with Financial Officers to learn about the sales processes and potentially meet with customers.
- Attend class(es) facilitated by our Organizational Development and Learning teams, if appropriate.
- Promote The Association through various public activities (this could include volunteer activities, farm shows, external learning opportunities, etc).
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or similar field of study
- Minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal)
- Available for a 12-week internship during the summer
