Job Summary
We are seeking a VP of Retail Closing to provide overall direction, coaching, and planning for the Retail Closing team. Direct leadership in the areas of non-consumer loan documents, from the point of loan approval through loan finalizing, to include a high focus on loan administration. Ensure compliance with all regulations and procedures associated with loan closing. Accountable for ensuring the repayment and collectability of Association assets through the correct development and implementation of promissory notes, mortgages, and other lending documents. Additionally, this role provides organization-wide leadership direction in loan closing aligned with the organization's strategic initiatives, including recruitment, staffing models, operational training initiatives, process improvement, audit and credit administration, and sales enablement.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Retail Loan Documentation Facilitation
- Lead, coach, and develop the Retail Closing team by establishing a collaborative and positive work environment that promotes continuous learning, development, and retention of high-caliber teammates.
- Provide a clear vision for the team by developing an effective plan for daily workflow management.
- Lead and coordinate the loan closing function to ensure the accuracy of loan documentation and adherence with established service standards.
- Facilitate change transition process and implementation of planned project initiatives.
- Be in prior contact with strategic efforts with 3rd parties such as Title companies, Title Attorney’s, Abstractors, etc.
Credit Administration and Delivery:
- Coordinate work activities and processes with Credit Underwriting team members and leaders.
- Ensure adherence to processes to improve consistency in standardization models.
- Monitor internal controls/accounting procedures/reports, etc.
Provide leadership, direction and counsel to the delivery of Association credit philosophy, including leading and directing the peer review process for the closing group.
Leadership Duities
- Share leadership with team members by empowering them to make decisions. This includes allowing them to take initiative, providing access to information and resources, and holding them accountable.
- Provide team leadership, shared vision, and positive communications to achieve the Associations’ vision and strategy consistent with the Associations’ core values and team principles.
- Establish a positive, participative, and collaborative team environment that inspires creative, high-performing, continuous learning, and engaged team members.
- Responsible for attracting, selecting, and on-boarding a diverse and qualified team and determining the appropriate team resource requirements to meet the Associations’ strategic direction.
- Develop team members through coaching, training and development, opportunities, and on-going performance feedback including timely follow-up on individual development plans; counsel team members on Talent Management activities.
- Develop and monitor the business plan and annual operating budgets related to areas of responsibilities. Review and approve operational expenditures within the delegated authority.
Travel Time
- Percentage of time required to travel during the day - 50%
- Percentage of time required to travel overnight - 10%
Education Requirements
- 4 year/ Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Business, Financei and/or Economics
Years of Experience
- 6 + years of experience which may include prior leadership experience in lending
