Job Summary

*Incumbent must work within the AgCountry territory or South Dakota and be willing to travel to the AgCountry territory.  This position will be responsible for AgCountry market CART loans.*

 

In this role, you’ll manage an assigned complex loan portfolio with emphasis on reduction of stressed assets through restructuring, borrower counseling and resolution of distressed accounts. Serve customers by processing loan servicing requests and loan restructuring requests originated in a defined region. Provide timely loan processing incorporating sound decisions on the loan structure, terms and conditions, pricing, and documentation. Provide counseling to Credit Analysts, Financial Officers, and Relationship Officers on loan structure, terms and conditions, pricing, and documentation for loans with significant credit weakness. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned portfolio in accordance with the Associations’ and AgriBank policies and procedures resulting in the greatest net return/best business decision. Primary responsibility is reduction of non-earning assets through restructuring, borrower counseling and/or collection and resolution of distressed loans. Analyze customer financial statements; which may include balance sheets, trend analysis, income statements, cash flows, collateral analysis, performance reconciliations, credit bureau reports, and commodity brokerage statements, including multiple entities, unique business characteristics, complicated legal structure, and complex monitoring needs. Activities include assembly, consolidation, calculation, documentation, and communication of the customers’ financial conditions and the acceptability of the customers’ credit requests. 
  • Assist Financial Officers, Relationship Officers, and Credit Analysts in the servicing of the high-risk portfolio. This includes establishing and maintaining sound credit and loan administration, loan pricing, and establishing appropriate loan terms and conditions for the purpose of managing the loan risks. Provide analysis and underwriting of loan and lease applications renewal and servicing actions for assigned accounts. Coordinate final conditions of approval by working with staff to structure the loan package in a manner that meets customer’s needs and Association’s risk tolerance. 
  • Supervise credit classification changes, accrual/stop accrual analysis for distressed loans and restructure loan applications. Resolve individually assigned higher risk accounts and restructure loan applications and makes recommendations on loans exceeding authority. 
  • Ensure that the Associations are within compliance of settlement laws and procedures. Contribute to the achievement of satisfactory Association credit administration and credit quality goals in assigned portfolio. 
  • Monitor loan performance on assigned portfolio. Ensures that loan performance and financial covenants are maintained and appropriately monitored. Initiates action to get customer to correct situations where they are out of compliance in an expedient manner. Provide timely, efficient service to all internal and external customers. 
  • Participate in the on-going design of Association processes to provide exceptional service and to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree Preferred in Finance or Economics

Years of Experience

  • 4+ years’ lending/credit analysis experience with the Farm Credit System or a related agricultural credit organization. Agricultural collection experience desired.
